Aggravated Assault Reported to Charlottesville Police on June 2

On June 2nd, Charlottesville Police responded to an incident of aggravated assault. An individual reported this incident occurred at 9:20 PM in the 1600 Block, University Avenue. Please refer to the map above for the location of the incident. A Community Alert was sent by Timothy Longo, Associate Vice President for Safety and Security and Chief of Police, on June 2, 2022 at 10:45 PM. 

According to the Community Alert, “Charlottesville Police are currently investigating a reported stabbing” at this location. The victim was gathered with a group of individuals when the incident took place. The injuries from this stabbing are non-life threatening according to the report. There was not a description of the suspect reported according to the Community Alert and the investigation by the Charlottesville Police is ongoing.

Students at the University have received multiple community alerts throughout the school year. Most recently, there was a report of a sexual assault on May 30th, 2022.
